I first became interested in peafowl in 1999. I was a silly junior high kid who thought a pair of peafowl would be a fun addition to the farm I grew up on. I was insistent enough to get my parents to cave, and they bought me my first pair of peafowl that October for my 13th birthday. All was well until I went online and discovered that peafowl came in many different colors and patterns. The peacock bug bit me, and there's been no going back since. In the years that have followed my hobby has spiraled into quite an enterprise, and I've gone from a pair of blues and struggling to get even an egg or two to hatch to nine different varieties and setting nearly a hundred pea eggs a summer. I've learned a lot about these beautiful, entrancing, and sometimes infuriating birds over the years, and I hope that I can impart some of that knowledge here to other would be enthusiasts. This site of course is dedicated to my peafowl of the past, present and future, and all the wonder and frustration they have provided me. Enjoy your stay, and if you have a peafowl question that I haven't answered or a comment about the site, feel free to email me at amy@amyspeacockparadise.com or sign my guestbook.
